My first 20 years as a musician, I had very few private students. Although I have a B.M. in Music Education, I was so busy performing and touring for so long that it just wasn’t feasible. I have been teaching full time, with some traveling, since 2009. Since 2020, my private studio outside of Portland State University has exploded! I have many private students; while they are mostly in Portland, Oregon, some zoom in from Iran, Thailand, Philadelphia, Japan, New York, Canada, and so on. It’s really been a pleasure and I have grown immensely as a teacher. I work with all levels of jazz pianists. I have students in middle school and some in their 70’s!
